Legendary Sportsman and Media Personality Al Lindner Guests on The Woman Angler & Adventurer to Talk About Careers in the Fishing Industry

Legendary Sportsman and Media Personality Al Lindner Guests on The Woman Angler & Adventurer to Talk About Careers in the Fishing Industry

(Nashville, Tennessee) September 10, 2019 — There's no question that Al Lindner is one of the most successful and prolific anglers in the world of sport fishing. While some ambitious young anglers may aspire to one day have their name in the Fishing Hall of Fame, Lindner is currently a member of FIVE. With an illustrious career that has crossed over into multiple segments of the industry, there's perhaps no one better qualified to talk about what it takes to make it in the fishing business.

Lindner joins The Woman Angler & Adventurer podcast hosts Angie Scott and Barb Carey to talk about just that on this week's episode. The timing couldn't be more perfect. Scott, a long-time Nashville Tennessee resident recently walked away from a successful career in the music business to pursue her passion for fishing and growing the involvement of women in the sport full-time.

"While it's a scary leap, there's no doubt this is my true calling," Scott said. "With support from people like Al Lindner, I know we're on the right path!"

Scott's co-host Barb Carey is the perfect partner and mentor for the venture. As the founder of Wisconsin Women Fish, Carey has been bringing women together and changing lives through fishing for over 16 years. She produces fishing events such as the highly successful Fish Camp that started out with just a couple of women and has now grown to well over 70. This year's event takes place October 4th-6th at Donners Bay Resort in Butternut, WI.

Speaking of perfect timing, The Lindner's are hosting their 3rd Annual Fishing Careers Workshop October 26th at ERX Motor Park in Elk River, MN. The day-long event will feature guest speakers from all different aspects of the industry such as Tony Roach from Roach's Guide Service, Scott Glorvigen from Wired2Fish, Sarah Strommen from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and many more!

    Border Battle

    Border Battle

Fall is in the air, and while many are turning their thoughts to the gridiron battles, many female anglers have their focus on the Border Battle. The two largest women’s fishing clubs in the upper Midwest, WI Women Fish (WWF) and the Women Anglers of MN (WAM), face off on their border waters, the Mighty Mississippi. This 5th annual gathering will be held Saturday, September 14th.

The battle will be held on The Best Dam Fishing Float, a historic fishing float below Dresbach Lock and Dam #7, near Lacrosse, Wisconsin. The barge has T shaped docks that provide over 400 feet of fishable rail and are handicapped and children friendly. Multiple species are caught every day. Food tackle and bait are available for purchase. The event was rescheduled from this spring when high water kept the barge closed for safety reasons. Both groups felt a little relieved about the date change since prior battles were held in late-season snowstorms.
