"19 Days, 3,796 Miles, 5 States, starting in Nashville and heading to Homosassa, FL then all along the coast to New Orleans, LA with the goal to fish and meet up with as many women as we can along the way." That was the premise of the 2019 edition of Rip and Hopper's Adventure, the Redfish Roadie Road Trip- Pretty. Darn. Epic.
As you may recall waaaay back on Episode 16 of The Woman Angler & Adventurer podcast Angie Scott interviewed Jen Ripple from DUN Magazine and Heather Hodson from United Women on the Fly at Fly South in Nashville as they were about to embark on their first Rip and Hopper's Adventure. (By-the-way, that episode won 1st place at the Tennessee Outdoor Writers Association 2019 Excellence in Craft Awards in the Radio/Podcast category!) Well, fast forward a year later, Angie Scott had the honor of tagging along on the 2nd incarnation of the trip!
Now you're invited to come along too, as we travel in the minivan on our way to New Orleans, LA looking back over the Florida portion of the adventure. Lots of fun was had, many memories were made and loads of fish were caught!
We discuss the Community Casting Events that were held along the way and tying in well with our "Mansplaining" episode last week, the importance of being self-aware when instructing and introducing new people to the sport.
Join us for this episode as well as Episode 86, the bonus episode where we get to chat with a few of the amazing ladies who joined up with is from the Stuart, FL leg of the journey.
Watch the moment Angie Scott lands her first ever fish on the fly!
