EP. 31 One of the Most Influential Female Anglers in North America: Yvonne Brown from Ontario Women Anglers
A passion for fishing flows through Yvonne’s blood much like hockey does with most Canadians. Her desire to learn all she can, and in turn share it with the ever-growing group of Ontario Women Anglers, is unmatched.Yvonne started the Women’s fishing organization about 7 years ago and creates opportunities for Women to get on the water. Bass tournaments, fly fishing, ice fishing and even trout and salmon fishing are available options for the gals to choose from. Being based out of an area that is close to the Great Lakes, Yvonne has many options available to provide anglers with a variety of experiences.
Each year, Yvonne travels to meet up with other Women’s groups, to network and of course to fish. This year's trip kept her in Canada, where she met up with WI Women Fish. WWF sponsored a trip to Canada for lady anglers and the Women who traveled the farthest to get there was ironically the Canadians.
In addition to working full time and planning fishing events, Yvonne is a freelance writer and provides informative articles for several publications. Her presence on social media has earned her the title of one of the “Most Influential Women Anglers In North America.” See the full list here.
