We invited a handful of amazing female boaters and anglers to come out and chat with us. Each one has their own story and perspective on being a female in the mostly male-dominated worlds of boating and fishing. If you missed the Facebook Live video, here's your chance to listen in!
On this week's episode of The Woman Angler & Adventurer podcast, Barb and Angie catch up with their good buddy Lance Valentine. You probably know of Lance from his highly successful Walleye 101 education platform. Now he's branching out to cover more species and sharing his invaluable knowledge with a new venture called Teachin' Fishin'.

"I'm just a girl who loves to fish"...That's the title of a popular YouTube video by young fishing sensation Averie Rose. But she's already so much more than that. This rising star from Canada is using her undeniable passion for fishing to help light the fire for other kids her age and get more people unglued from their devices and out enjoying the great outdoors.
She was the most perfect guest to bring on our show and wrap up our series of episodes dedicated to getting more people involved in sport fishing, and we couldn't imagine ending it on a higher note than this!
In this episode of The Woman Angler & Adventurer podcast, I had the pleasure speaking with Rachel Piacenza, Director of Marketing for the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF). Rachel grew up in the midwest and developed a passion for fishing from a very young age. She loved it so much that she set out to tie in fishing with her professional pursuits. After working for a time for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, she uprooted to Alexandra, VA to join RBFF to see how she could be involved in that organization which promotes fishing on a national level. She's been with the foundation for about 8 years now.
We spoke about TakeMeFishing.Org's newest initiative called "Making Waves" that is all about getting more women into the sport. It just launched on Mother's Day of this year, and as been making a splash on social media. We talk about some of the challenges, why this initiative is so important, and Rachel shares some promising stats as well. The mission has just begun.
