Imagine if you had access to the largest fleet of boats in NORTH AMERICA? To me, that would mean you have the freedom to enjoy life! That's what Freedom Boat Club membership is all about.
On this week's episode of The Woman Angler & Adventurer podcast, I visit with brand new Freedom Boat Club member and avid angler Lesley Smith. Lesley and her husband recently joined Freedom Boat Club in San Diego so they could take advantage of the two local clubs and go out on a boat and fish to their heart's content.
On a beautiful winter day in Middle Tennessee, I made the scenic mountainous drive eastbound on I-24 from Nashville to Chattanooga to visit with Tom Rowland. Tom has a podcast studio space in the headquarters of Waypoint TV, where The Woman Angler & Adventurer is proud to be a part of the Waypoint Outdoor Collective network of podcasts.
A-two-for-one, I interviewed Tom for our show 1st and then he interviewed me for his show, the Tom Rowland Podcast. You can listen to that episode here. On this episode, we talk about Tom’s career in fishing, his hometown of Chattanooga and the importance of keeping up your physical fitness for fishing.
In episode 5 of the "It Pays to Fish" podcast, Angie walks you through the ins and outs of Mariner's Learning System's Captain in a Box course in order to obtain your OUPV/Six-Pack United States Coast Guard Captain's License. She covers why it is so important to go through a program such as Mariner's Learning System and also walks you through all of the requirements you should consider before setting out on this journey.
It is not an easy undertaking by any means, but it has some major rewards! If you want to improve your resume, cement your knowledge of maritime rules and regulations, are interested in boating professionally such as being a fishing guide, doing a sightseeing charter, running a dive boat, or towing for hire you'll need to have your captain's license!
