EP. 55 Steelhead Fishing on the River of Presidents
There is no better way to shake off the winter doldrums than to be standing streamside chasing steelhead. You can witness spring come alive as the ice and snow melt away and flow into the river, while birds and other wildlife wake up to the warmth of a spring sunrise. Steelhead are a massive trout (rainbow) that migrate into the streams from the Great Lakes. Steelhead and salmon are native to the Pacific Northwest but in the 1960s, a very successful stocking program developed into a multi-billion dollar fishing and boating tourism industry in the Great Lakes Region.
