At long last, I'm welcoming back to the show Linda Leary, the person behind the brand FisheWear which combines tactical fishing clothing for women with fashion and fun!
Linda made a brief appearance on the show back on Episode 86 which was a Redfish Roadie Roadtrip Bonus Episode. We talked about doing a more in-depth interview with her to learn about her awesome story and we've finally made it happen.
Welcome to this week's episode, all about the Girl's Trip I went on with Jen Ripple from DUN Magazine and Outdoor Girls Cheryl Smith. It was a whirlwind of a trip, but so incredibly worth it!
I drove two hours from Nashville up to Land Between the Lakes to meet up with Jen on an early Monday morning. We loaded up the truck and continued our trek north 8.5 hours to Port Clinton, OH. In retrospect, we wondered why we didn't just fly up, but I'm glad we didn't. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time!
This week we're going to get pretty deep. I've personally been on a spiritual awaking journey recently. I think the pandemic and all the other things going on in the world right now have caused a lot of us to look for answers. I've been going down this path for about a year and recent events have helped to escalate my search for truth which has led to an expansion of awareness.
Out of the blue, Captain Debbie Hanson who was featured on Episode 140 of the show reached out to me and recommended I connect with a woman by the name of Lexi Quinn who is a fly angler, hunter, and life coach. Debbie had fished with her recently and said "she's the real deal."
Susan Thrasher has been teaching students how to fly fish through her Southern Brookies Guide Service and Camp out on the Caney Fork just east of Nashville for some time now. She also heads up an outstanding group of female anglers in Nashville called Music City Fly Girls who meet on a regular basis and take group fly fishing trips together.
Now you can learn from Susan through stories in her new book called "Thrasher’s Fly Fishing Guide: An Essential Handbook for All Skill Levels." It's a unique and entertaining twist on an instructional handbook. Who doesn't love a great story? It's a great way to remember certain pointers that will bring you more success in your fly fishing endeavors. I highly recommend you check it out. The book is available on Amazon!
