EP. 54 RBFF's Rachel Auslander on Women Making Waves From the 2019 Bassmaster Classic

EP. 54 RBFF's Rachel Auslander on Women Making Waves From the 2019 Bassmaster Classic

Angie Scott recently met up with the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation's Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships Rachel Auslander at Media Day during the 2019 Geico Bassmaster Classic presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods. Rachel was on hand to answer any questions about the Take Me Fishing brand and initiatives, handing out press kits, research and information on the work RBFF is doing to advance fishing and boating participation. RBFF was also there sponsoring the Bassmaster Get Hooked on Fishing Kids area at the Classic.

You may recall back in July Angie chatted with RBFF's Director of Marketing Rachel Piacenza about their new women's initiative called "Making Waves." (Episode 18). On this week's episode, Rachel A. gives us some insight on the 2.0 version of the initiative as well as what RBFF's been up to in their efforts to grow participation in recreational fishing to 60 million in 60 months. Exciting stuff! Help support the cause by sharing about it on social media and more importantly, introducing someone new to the sport!

EP. 18 Female Anglers Making Waves with Takemefishing.org

EP. 18 Female Anglers Making Waves with Takemefishing.org

In this episode of The Woman Angler & Adventurer podcast, I had the pleasure speaking with Rachel Piacenza, Director of Marketing for the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF). Rachel grew up in the midwest and developed a passion for fishing from a very young age. She loved it so much that she set out to tie in fishing with her professional pursuits. After working for a time for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, she uprooted to Alexandra, VA to join RBFF to see how she could be involved in that organization which promotes fishing on a national level. She's been with the foundation for about 8 years now.

We spoke about TakeMeFishing.Org's newest initiative called "Making Waves" that is all about getting more women into the sport. It just launched on Mother's Day of this year, and as been making a splash on social media. We talk about some of the challenges, why this initiative is so important, and Rachel shares some promising stats as well. The mission has just begun.
