EP. 196 The Best Fishing Rods on Earth? Conversation with Savannah Stenlund from St. Croix Rods

EP. 196 The Best Fishing Rods on Earth? Conversation with Savannah Stenlund from St. Croix Rods

I recently had the opportunity to do a tour of the St. Croix Rods headquarters in Park Falls, WI. I have to say, if you're into fishing and you ever have the opportunity to do this free tour, I highly recommend you do it! The manufacturing process of a fishing rod is unbelievable. At St. Croix, they even make their own blanks, and to able to witness that process alone is phenomenal.

Before that, I had the opportunity to meet and chat with Savannah Stenlund, the new Angler Engagement Coordinator with the company. I can't wait for you all to have the chance to meet her as well on this week's episode!

EP. 148 Lexi Beyond Limits: Fly Fishing & Expanding Your Awareness

EP. 148 Lexi Beyond Limits: Fly Fishing & Expanding Your Awareness

This week we're going to get pretty deep. I've personally been on a spiritual awaking journey recently. I think the pandemic and all the other things going on in the world right now have caused a lot of us to look for answers. I've been going down this path for about a year and recent events have helped to escalate my search for truth which has led to an expansion of awareness.

Out of the blue, Captain Debbie Hanson who was featured on Episode 140 of the show reached out to me and recommended I connect with a woman by the name of Lexi Quinn who is a fly angler, hunter, and life coach. Debbie had fished with her recently and said "she's the real deal."

EP. 128 The One-Boat Network Challenge with "Bad Ash" Ashley Nichole Lewis

Imagine for a moment that you're a salmon and steelhead fishing guide up in the Pacific Northwest. Now you find yourself being dropped off somewhere in the middle of Mexico and you're expected to compete in a high-level 10-day bass fishing competition. You do, however, have the amazing Hummingbird Minnkota One-Boat Network on your side...but then, so does everyone else you'll be competing against.

That's the predicament this week's guest on The Woman Angler & Adventurer podcast found herself in as she was the only female contestant on the recent One-Boat Network series of episodes.

EP. 53 Pat Green on Fishing with Parkinson's Disease

EP. 53 Pat Green on Fishing with Parkinson's Disease
Pat Green grew up fishing in Northern MN with her Grandparents. She developed her passion at a young age, and it followed her into adulthood even though she moved to the Chicago area, Pat would even fish on her lunch hour while working, taking full advantage of the pond that was near where she worked, Lunch hour bluegills were her stress release.

In her early 50's Pat, was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson's disease. Parkinson's is a long-term degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that mainly affects the motor system. The news was devastating, but after her Dr told her to use it or lose it, she hasn't looked back. Listen is as Pat shares some insights into her life, and how fishing has helped her along the way. It may do us all a bit of good, to check in to see if our glass is half empty or half full.
