One of Al's recent brainstorms was the Fishing Careers Workshop. Now in its third year, Al's talks about this year's guests, the many options available to those looking to work in the industry and how people can sign up for the workshop.
We're super stoked about this week's guest on The Woman Angler & Adventurer podcast. She just may be the epitome of everything this show is all about. Meet Melissa Bachman (if you haven't already). She's the star of Winchester Deadly Passion on The Sportsman Channel.
Our conversation with Melissa focuses on a topic we know a lot of you either have experience with or are curious about and Melissa has had more experience than most women we know. That topic is bowfishing. Melisssa, an avid hunter as well as an angler, grew up bowfishing in Minnesota. Since then, she's had some pretty unique bowfishing experiences that she recounts for us in this episode including bowfishing offshore!
In her early 50's Pat, was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson's disease. Parkinson's is a long-term degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that mainly affects the motor system. The news was devastating, but after her Dr told her to use it or lose it, she hasn't looked back. Listen is as Pat shares some insights into her life, and how fishing has helped her along the way. It may do us all a bit of good, to check in to see if our glass is half empty or half full.
She hails from the Adirondack Mountains of Northern New York and is a fisheries biologist, Forest Ranger, & both a Freelance & Fisheries expert Field writer for Coastal Angler & The Angler Magazines. Fishing is her passion, and it may have saved her life!
