EP. 16 Two Fly Girls Road Trip: Rip and Hopper's Fishing Adventure

I had the chance to meet up with Heather Hodson from United Women on the Fly and Jen Ripple from DUN Magazine on location at Fly South in Nashville, TN on the very first stop of their road trip dubbed Rip and Hopper's Adventure and we had a blast!

Heather and Jen have embarked on a 19 day, 3,350 mile, 13 states from Tennessee to Washington road trip with the goal of fishing and meeting up with as many women as they can along the way. You can follow their entire journey on social media. Links included in the additional resources section below!

They had a ton of great information and insight to share on women in the world of fishing and fly fishing specifically. You're really going to enjoy this upbeat and fun episode of The Woman Angler & Adventurer!

About Heather Hodson: Founder of United Women on the Fly. Heather is an expert at making anglers (especially women) feel comfortable and becoming a part of the fly fishing community. Sometimes referred to as the “Middle Women,” Heather volunteers her energy and time to connect women, help start a Women’s Program or enable anglers to become more confident on the water. Heather currently holds the position of Western US Women’s/Diversity Ambassador for Trout Unlimited. Her passion for conservation, getting women involved in fly fishing and enthusiasm to think outside the box is infectious.

About Jen Ripple: Founder, Publisher, and Editor-in-Chief of DUN Magazine. Jen is a member of the Board of Directors for Fly Fishers International and member of the Board of Directors for AFFTA. When not on the water, she spends her time empowering women in fly fishing by teaching fly tying and fly casting clinics, speaking nationwide on issues regarding women in fly fishing, and devoting her time to conservation efforts through nonprofits. A sounding board for women in this currently male-dominated sport, Jen has created a home base through DUN for the everyday woman to tell their story, connect, and engage in the art of fly fishing.
