IT'S ALL ABOUT THE BAITS: WE REVEAL OUR "OLD FAITHFULS!"

Monday we are going to mix it up and we are giving you a sneak peak into our individual tackle boxes to show you OUR OWN "old faithfuls!" Everyone in bass fishing has baits that are their "Old Faithfuls," whether that's what they call them or not. For instance, we know Pam Ridgle has one and it's the Senko and Shannon Wells' is the jig. These type of baits may be someone's go to all day everyday, or they may mix it up and bring one out in certain conditions, or even when they have a limit and they are now trying to call up Big Mama. We all have our own way of breaking down the waters we fish as well as managing our fish and time. Therefore, when, where, and how long we decide to pull out and use an old faithful can be critical. For example, if a Senko is your number one old faithful but you have zero fish with only an hour left, do you put it down then jump on the trolling motor and throw a moving bait? In my experience, having these baits that never fail me, well almost never fail me, can also come back to haunt me (you/us). Bass are picky, stingy, AND are faithful to the direction of Mother Nature. Sometimes if you are a shade of green off, or a size too large, or fishing a tad bit too fast, you can and will get skunked. With that being said, I think these baits also become our "Old Faithfuls," because they've proven to be successful on those tougher days. When bass are actively feeding, they will take multiple things and we don't have to put as much thought into it. But like I said, on those tough days, having those confidence baits to rely on will help you from just "going through the motions," because you know the history of those baits and how many days/tournaments they've saved you.
