This is a Facebook Live video filmed by The Woman Angler & Adventure co-host Captain Angie Scott while onboard a Chittum Skiff fishing the flats near Stuart, FL. They were headed from one spot chasing Tarpon to another spot on the hunt for Bonefish when the captain of the skiff noticed a boat behaving strangely. At first, he thought it was someone pulling a tuber in a crazy manner. Soon he realized the boat wasn't under command and there may be a person in the water (PIW) in need of assistance so we headed that way.
The wake of his skiff helped to keep the runaway boat in a tighter circle while the rescue took place.
Thankfully another boat was already on the scene attempting to get the driver of the runaway boat onboard.
Before you make an unnecessary comment, Captain Angie Scott knows the number for the Coast Guard isn't 1-800- Coast-Guard. That was an attempt at humor on Facebook Live in the face of a dire situation.
Learn a lesson or two from this unfortunate situation which could have ended up much, much worse...Always wear your PDF. Always wear your kill switch. And have a VHF radio onboard in case of emergency.
