Tune in live Monday June 14th 8:00 pm EST for the show! Angie will be live in Natchitoches, LA and Barbara will be live in Kentucky, not able to make this tournament.
It seems like we were just at the kickoff tournament at Ray Hubbard in Texas, and here we are already at the last regular season event, also known as the Wildcard event, for the Lady Bass Anglers Association (#LBAA)! This is official practice week and the tournament days will be held on June 17th and June 18th. It will be an amazing time to watch the weigh-in live on the Lady Bass Anglers Association official Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/LadyBassAnglers/ Just give the page a like and keep an eye out for the weigh-in to begin!
Here are the amazing things that will be determined in Louisiana this week! Obviously, we are going to have the winners of this event. However, we are also going to find out who is going to advance to the Lady Bass Anglers Classic that will be fished September 16th-18th at Lake Logan Martin in Alabama!
We will also have the Professional "Rookie of the Year," and our very own, Angie Scott is in contention for this award! Let's go Angie!
However, HERE is the BIG ONE! Some people say, "Anyone can get lucky and win a tournament," but I have to disagree with this statement. At any rate, nobody can say anything close to this when it comes to Angler of the Year, AOY! This the race for the most consistent anglers throughout all of the events. They figured it out ever day at every event more than the rest of the field. There are only 40 points separating the top 4 Co-Anglers. There are only 45 points separating the top 3 Professionals. Anything can happen! Cane River Lake has the reputation of holding some massive bass in it!
Last week we talked about the impact of water temperature on bass/bass fishing and it could play a huge role in this tournament. If you haven't checked it out yet then you can do so here https://youtu.be/4iYpbecZDkw This should most definitely be a post-spawn, summer time pattern tournament, with the water temperatures fairly warm, possibly ranging towards the upper, or even over the comfort level for bass (84 degrees and up). On the other hand, this is a shallow fishery so the fish can only go so deep. It will be very interesting to find out where the ladies locate these sometimes elusive creatures. What baits will prevail? Will we see the frog come out and bust some big ones? We have some ladies (several of us have mentioned Lynda Gessner) that are flat out dangerous with a frog. Buzzbaits? Senkos? Ned rigs? Crankbaits? We won't find out this week, but we will next week! Be sure to watch the weigh in just in case the ladies give up some information! Tune in and watch us live at 8:00 pm EST on Monday June 14th to discuss everything above!
